When my camera is at hand and I'm in photography mode, that is when I really see my environment: I notice the light reflecting off a window and onto the brick wall across the street; I see the weeds growing out of the cracks in the pavement. What I try to capture are disparate characters created by humans and nature that come together and form a kind of dialogue or visual song. A grafitti tag, a painted rectangle covering a tag, crumbling bricks, shadows from a tree: all interact with each other in space as do the sounds in a musical composition.
