This up and coming young artist in the art world was born Nov. 16th 1978. A life long Chapel Hill NC native, who early in life succumbed to wanderlust and a passion for equines.
After graduating from Chapel Hill High school in the late 90's, Gray embarked on a study of life and art at East Carolina University. She graduated in 2001 with a B.F.A in art. Upon further studies she received a masters degree in art education with a concentration in painting. Gray enhanced her studies with sojourns and residencies in Italy and Brazil. She also worked in Washington D.C with the Phillips Collection which gave her a unique opportunity to be surrounded by some of the most famous artworks in the world. Today Gray resides in Chapel Hill raising her two beautiful cherubs, Liam and Alexander.
In the last 5 years, Geiger, Dali, Escher, Klimt and a number of urban street artists from the late 80's have had significant influence on her art expression. Gray has constantly searched out her own visions and truths. Her art has been described as a statement of purpose, encompassing how the human spirit can become lost in post modern urban existence. She credits her spiritual awakening and present awareness to the cathartic effect art has given her life, and hopes further inspirations will follow.
