The Ackland Museum Store is pleased to announce the opening of India Bazaar, an Indian market, featuring a wide array of beautifully designed and handcrafted products made in India. Most of the businesses represented in the Store’s India Bazaar are owned by young Indian entrepreneurs whose works, while reflecting their local culture, are redefining the context of Indian design.
Goods in the India Bazaar range from colorful textiles and jewelry, to handcrafted journals and paper to items for the home. All items are for sale, and all proceeds support the Ackland Art Museum’s exhibition and education programs.
India Bazaar will run in conjunction with the Ackland Art Museum exhibition The Sahmat Collective: Art and Activism in India Since 1989. The India Bazaar will be open during the opening reception events for The Sahmat Collective on 2nd Friday Art Walk until 8:30pm.
