Roger Kellison: Photographs and Collage
[Artist Statment] "There is an unusual aspect to Kellison's adventures in photography. Though he did take some pictures in NYC back in the day...60's & 70's...they were mostly
the typical family shots. However, a few years ago a diagnosis of Parkinson's coincided with his receiving gifts of a used digital camera and a printer.
Some doctors say that one of his medications can unleash any of a number of compulsive behaviors. Perhaps that accounts for the thousand of pictures
that surround him and more that he continues to print. Whatever. It certainly
beats the alternatives of compulsive gambling or more sinister life altering changes that some poor souls experience.
This will be his fourth show in the last year. He's a lucky guy."
The exhibit runs from January 2-31. The Opening Reception will be held Friday, January 10 from 6-8pm, in conjunction with the 2nd Friday ArtWalk.
