Group Exhibit by the Newcomers Club at The ArtsCenter

  • The ArtsCenter 300 E Main St Carrboro, NC, 27510 United States

Opening Reception: Friday, November 14th, 6-8pm in the
Nicholson Gallery, in conjunction with the 2nd Friday ArtWalk.
The exhibit will be on display November 1st through 30th.

The ArtsCenter is pleased to host a show made up of works from a dozen artists who are transplants to the Greater Chapel Hill area. These newcomers bring fresh talent and imagination to the region.  There are photographers, painters, and jewelers.  Their work represents their muse often inspired by their travels.  They have chosen to relocate here and have come to love the area.  This show is one way to give back to the community.

Note:  These newcomers are members of the Newcomers Club of Greater Chapel Hill or the Newcomers Alumni group.

“The colors and smells, sights and sounds of being in nature are a part of my core which is why bringing these elements into my work is so natural. These elements rejuvenate my inspiration and leave me wanting to create more. While working on a piece, I find a sense of meditation comes over me as I watch the paint flow from my brush and onto the paper. My hope is to be able to share a similar sense of peace with others through my work.”
