Jessee’s Coffee will present a colorful and whimsical September exhibit featuring works by Cinc Hayes on view Sept 1st- Oct 1st 2014.
Cinc will be doing a meet and greet during the Art Walk.
Hayes has created most of his art in a small haunted carriage house located in the heart of downtown Charleston, SC as well as in his studio in Chapel Hill. Emphasizing his focus on images he comes across in his daily life, his acrylic, oil, and mixed media paintings accentuate the beauty of everything around; things that can often become lost in our fast paced world.
When asked about what he wants people to take away from his art Hayes says, “ I want people to get lost for a few seconds in the piece and unleash their creativity as if they were looking into a riddle. I want them to stop for a moment and focus in on the piece, seeing colors and images that weren’t noticed at the first glance.”
Originally from Chapel Hill NC, after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he spent seven years traveling the world working, painting, drawing, and a year traveling for Crayola Crayons where he traveled to underprivileged inner city areas, teaching art in different schools and children’s hospitals across the nation. When he settled in San Francisco for a few years he took many art classes to broaden his understanding and technique as an artist.
Hayes uses his experiences from different times in his life and the different places he has lived and traveled to create stories on Canvas in front of him. He states “ San Francisco, Charleston, and Chapel Hill have been the most inspiring places I have lived. The areas are full of wonderful colors and fascinating subjects and characters.”
Hayes has exhibited his work all over Northern California and the Southeast. His exhibit will feature his work that was created since living in Charleston, SC and Chapel Hill, NC.
