Opening Reception for Paperhand Puppet Intervention's New Show

The Nicholson Gallery of the ArtsCenter will be filled again this year with the giant puppets, masks, and paintings of celebrated puppeteers Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Using paper mache’, cardboard, cloth, and other reused, found, and donated materials, these Maximalist artists create compelling creatures, reflect raw reality, and weave whimsical worlds through their storytelling and performances. Paperhand is a collaboration between Donovan Zimmerman and Jan Burger as well as a wide array of artists from around the Triangle and beyond. Since 1999 they have poured countless quantities of energy, sweat, and paper mache’ goop into living art that aims to inspire people of all ages. The exhibit will be on display July 1st-31st.
